Agency for Technical Cooperation and Development (ACTED) has carried out two field assessments in Haiti and the Dominican Republic in order to develop post emergency response projects that include a disaster preparedness and a risk management component.

The island of Hispanola is regularly hit by hurricanes and having post emergency projects in place will go a long way to limiting the number of casualties as well as the recovery time from such natural disasters.
