Haiti's time is now...

This week the Organization of American States (OAS) delegation completed its second full day of high-level meetings and onsite visits to projects in Haiti. They expressed optimism about the country’s improved security climate and emphasized the need for economic development to be now in greater focus.

Increasing security, police training and government transperency are at the top of the Preval government agenda which are further being strengthened by international funding finally being released. The OAS delegation visited sites in Cap Haitien and Belladères to see PADF projects.

Ambassador Cornelius Smith, the OAS Permanent Council Chairman and Permanent Representative of the Bahamas to the OAS, who heads up the mission to Haiti and OAS Assistant Secretary General Ambassador Albert Ramdin also co-leader of the hemispheric delegation had nothing but positive things to say about their trip. Specifically noting how the increasing security will lead to more opportunities for development.
